The texturing of yarn using compressed air is one of the most flexible and versatile methods in yarn texturing and allows the combination of different types of raw yarns.
ATY (Air Textured Yarn) is yarn produced through the air texturing process. In this process, compressed air is applied to the yarn through air jets, causing the fibers to entangle and producing yarns with different appearances. The purpose of this process is to impart visual and tactile characteristics similar to spun yarns such as cotton, wool, and acrylic.
In this process, heat is generated through tension and compressed air to give the yarn the desired texture. ATY yarn is used as warp, weft, and pile yarn in carpets and rugs, in woven knit fabrics with warp, home textiles, and industrial textiles.
